Big and TallThis is one of our tallest projects. A chip bin and cyclone stack approximately 80' high. We dismantled it in Abbotsford and moved it to Agassiz, where we reconstructed it. Reconstruction involved numerous repairs to the unit from years of neglect and pre-existing damage from the original site. The clam shell doors at the bottom were bent from forklift collisions, the hydraulic cylinders were leaking and the hoses were brittle to name a few. This project took lots of careful planning and collaboration with both sites and the crane and trucking companies.

Partnering upOne of my favourite things about this line of work is making partnerships. Working with other companies that compliment each other with their own unique expertise can be extremely rewarding for all involved, especially for our customers that receive the best service possible with this sort of collaboration. One recent example was teaming up with the manufacture of Hopkinsons steam valves. They contacted us to be field support for their expert technician, to provide him with an extra set of well trained hands to delicately dismantle and refurbish their customer's main steam valve. We also provided the service truck to get to and from the site and provided any extra tooling and supplies necessary to complete the job. I look forward to working with them again.
Trim Line InstallHere is a look at a project that had us busy for about 2.5 months. It's a trim line being fed by two planers. Much of the structure was prefabbed by my good friends at Valley Industrial Services. The on-site fab work and installation work was done by DRMS with some extra hands from VIS. It still needs a few more finishing touches, but all of the big stuff is done.
Oil Pan RebuildWhat do you do when the oil pan on your boat's engine rusts through and the dealership wants $$$$ for a new one? Have a custom stainless steel one constructed by DRMS for half the price and avoid having the issue happening ever again.
Log Handling RebuildThe log handling bumper system at the head saw of this mill was worn out and sloppy making cutting accurately and square labour-intensive and nearly impossible. We rebuilt the entire bumper system including the measuring stop to allow for precise control of the incoming logs. The rebuild has increased the efficiency of the operation and reduced waste of the expensive logs, while also improving the quality of the product. Money well spent.
